Do your teachers spend enough time on teaching new vocabulary? Does he or she provide you enough materials that contain the target vocabulary?

I prefer my teacher to give me more practice to fully obtain the vocabulary. What's your opinion?? Smile

Vividou:
I have some suggestions on English vocabulary learning.
First, among the whole list of vocabulary, you can find out what words are used very frequently in your everyday life and pay your main attention to them instead of spending a lot of time remembering words that are no much use.
Second, you can try to make some sentences using the words that you have just learnt; and sentences with situations in your own real life are commonly considered very effective.
Besides, it is another good way to remember words with some pictures, either in front of your eyes or just in your brain as a form of imagination. It is generally believed that you can find proper words for communication very quickly if you try to make some connection between words and their relevant pictures or situations in your mind.
Finally, repeated revisions will surely help your vocabulary learning.
Hope you could make great progress in your vocabulary learning.

don't try to learn all of the at once. My teacher said that she tries to learn one new word every day and she has been teaching English for more than 25 years. In my school we systematically have vocabulary tests. Of course we don't remember all the words, let say, a month after the tests, but on the other hand, we remember some of them.
