Which one is correct:

1. Please fill in the application form.

Please fill out the application form.

2. Please wait, I will help you out later.

Please wait, I will help you later.

What is the difference between fill in and fill out?
What is the difference between help and help out?

hallo Roseray,

I can't find a difference between fill in and fill out.

to help means
to give assistance or support to:
help a child with homework

to help out means
to give help (to someone) at a time of need:
My mother helped me out (with some money) when I lost my job.

Best wishes

Hallo Roseray,

I found the meaning for fill in and fill out

The meaning of fill in:
When you have some exercises from your teachser sometimes you have to fill in the blanks.
You know, some words are missing and you have to fill them in in the right tence or something else.

The meaning of fill out:
You can fill out a questionairy, for an agency for example.

And there is a second meaning:
You can fill out clothes, a blouse for example.

That's all I could find. Hope you understand my explaining.

Best wishes

Basically, the British would say fill in this form. Americans would say fill out this form.

They mean the same thing.

Incidentally, filling out a blouse is usually only applied to females with large b r e a s t s. You would say, "Wow! She fills that blouse out well!"

It is the same with 'help you' and 'help you out.' Just British and American ways of meaning the same thing
