Dear Teachers,
1. I really tried to invite her to go to the movie with me, but it seems shes blowing me off.
- What does blow me off mean?
2. Although she rejected my love, I really felt very comfortable after letting her know my true affection.
- Is this natural?
3. He helps her a lot with her study.
4. I hope that our choir will have a great time on tomorrow trip.
- Are 3 & 4 natural?
Thanks a bunch to Teachers,

1. To blow someone off means to reject someone or ignore someone.
2. I would probably say either "my true feelings" or "my true affections."
3. More natural: "He helps her a lot with her studies / He often helps her with her studies / He often helps her study [i.e., helps her to study]."
4. More natural: "I hope our choir will have a great time on our trip tomorrow." "On our trip" tells where, while "tomorrow" tells when. You don't want to put when right in the middle of where.
You could also say, "I hope our choir has a great time on tomorrow's trip." _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
