Hello,

What do you this symbol ' '? Should it be "single quotes" because it's a pair of symbols or "single quote" because both parts make up just 1 symbol?

You put a word, phrase, etc. in single quotes when you surround them with those symbols, but when used singly, I believe they are usually referred to as single quote marks. "You are missing the closing single quote mark for that internal quotation, George."
