Dear Teachers,

1. She does not deserve to be treated in that way.
- I think in here is redundant, right?

2. I was there for her when she got dumped.
- get dumped means to be rejected by someone, right?

3. Shes the retard who helps them to talk things through.
- What does talk things through mean?

Thanks a lot to Teachers,

Stevenukd

1. Yes, you could just say, "treated that way."

2. Yes, it does, usually in the context of a romantic relationship. When your sweetheart tells you it's over, you've been dumped.

More generally, you could also say that you dumped your job when you quit, or your boss dumped you when you were fired, or you dumped your wireless phone company for another one, etc.

3. It means to discuss throroughly.

Being dumped isn't the same as being rejected -- Only a partner, lover, or spouse can dump you, but anyone can reject you. Being dumped means that there was some kind of romantic relationship in the past. Being rejected means that someone refuses to start a relationship with you.

stevenukd - you may not be aware, (or many others who read these posts) and i am not personally offended, but the word 'retard' used in place of the word 'ignorant' is extremely offensive. retardation is a medical condition and should never be used jokingly when someone does or says a really dumb thing. just thought you'd like to know so that it does not become an awkward situation for you.
