"When are you free?" can mean the time, the day, the month, all depending on the context. If we're talking about meeting tomorrow, it means what time tomorrow. If we're talking about meeting next week, it means what day and time next week.

Yes, "gang up on" does mean for a group of people to attack one person or a smaller group. The attack can be physical or verbal.
