Is " a little something" correct?

It can be, depending upon where you want to use it.

"Here's a little something I whipped up in the kitchen," said the hostess to her guests.

Noticing a stray thread on Sally's coat, Mr. Smith said, "Sally, you have a little something on your sleeve."

"I'd like to discuss a little something with you, Jack, if you have a moment."

BUT NOT: "I'm a little something tired," "You're a little something late," "We sell clothes to a little something segment of the population."
