Hi,

I suggest you buy some tapes or a CD with a book. Many ESL books, like Cambridge New Interchange, have CDs to practice listening.

I strongly recommend that you listen to the CD two or three times before you read the words in the book. This is important and will help your pronunciation a lot. There are also many websites that let you practice listening.

Good luck,

Corey

Hi, I am a Chinese student, too. I am shy to talk with others.
I have good ideas to improve English skills. We can read loudly, write notes in English, talk English with classmates. THe most importance is speaking English loudly.
Good Luck! Very Happy
