War of the Worlds was directed by Steven Speilberg and was originally made into a movie by Byron Haskin back in 1953. War of the Worlds was also originally a novel written by H.G. Wells. War of the Worlds stars Tom Cruise, Dakota Fanning and Tim Robbins. It is a action, sci fi, drama, horror and thriller type of a movie. Tom Cruise or Ray Ferrier is a working class man living in New Jersey and he has a son and daughter Rachael and Robbie Ferrier. In the movie aliens take over the world and Ray Ferrier tries to escape from them with his two kids as aliens wage war. The movie was a little bit different from a typical alien movie because you do not see violence all through the movie, which you might see in a movie like Independence Day. Instead you mostly just see Tom Cruise running away from aliens, which kind of leaves you on the edge of your seat. The movie had an unsuspected ending, which was kind of dramatic. I thought that the movie was intense and it kept me on the edge of the seat, but in the end I thought that the movie had the same plot as most alien type movies that I have seen so I was not all that impressed. But I would say that if someone is into sci fi alien type movies this is probably worth paying to see.
