Bambi lives in the forest / in the woods, and people like to visit forests / the woods to get back to nature, watch birds, etc.
You wouldn't say "some woods," but you could say "a woods." You'd be more likely to say that there is a forest in your town, though. People do tend to use "a woods" as though singular, that way.
