Hi again.

Could you tell me what does mean the construction "quiate a XXX". For example:

'Quite a case,' said M, looking keenly at him. 'And quite a man, this Mr. Big.'

It means that the thing talked about is remarkable, noteworthy.

"That's quite a bruise you have there, Tommy. Been fighting?"

"It's been quite a while since I've seen an eclipse of the Sun."

"That was quite a head-butt, Mr. Zidane!"

Thank you for your help.
That was from Ian Flemming's "Live and let die" (about James Bond).
I'm reading it now just for fun and english training and I find that this is simplier than The Lord of the Rings in vocabulary aspect. But still there are some expressions which I can not understand.

I could never really get into any of Tolkien's books although I'm sure they're
tours de force in many ways.
Of Ian Fleming's books: "From Russia with Love" was my favourite.
