Dear Teachers,

Is there a clear difference bettween POLICY & POLITICS ?

In the two examples belwo which is the correct one

- Policy is a dirty game
- Politics is a dirty game

Politics refers to public affairs, governing people, and setting public policy. "Politics is a dirty business" is a common expression. It's dirty because it is so easy to have corruption.

Another couple of common expressions: "All politics is local" and "There's politics in everything." Office politics, for example.

Policy is the plan or course of action decided upon by a person, a group, or a government. Maybe your government has a policy to combat global warming.
