Which punctuation do I need between "there" and "imeping" in the following sentence? Or maybe I don't need anything?

"The troubles that hauted these places - poverty, corruption, religious strife - have returned faster than the families that lived there impeding recovery."

Though the message is not very clear, I'd say you put a comma there.
