Hello,
Recently, I always see this phrase: "come across".
Who can give me some examples about the use of this phrase?
Thanks a lot! |

Susan: You have often come across this phrase, haven't you?
It is a phrase that I come across quite often too.
To come across means to find, to discover. Here are some examples of its use:
While I was looking for my keys I came across the watch I had lost.
While I was browsing through this forum I came across your question.

To come across can also mean to appear or to seem.
He comes across as a sincere, sensitive man.
Hecomes across as a hard, cold man. |
