one of the issue topic says that government funding of the arts threatens
the integrity of the arts.
I just do not understand how government funding influences the intergrity of the arts.
Is anyone willing to help me?

Perhaps the idea is that you are not as free to do whatever you want if you are funded by the government. You may have to follow certain guidelines on what is acceptable, and you may not be able to do exactly what you want.
