2) The table laid in the center of the living room.

Are they correct?

1. Fine.

2. Not fine. First, tables do not lie, they stand, so it should be "The table stood in the center of the living room." Second, even if tables did lie instead of stand, the past tense is lay, not laid: "The table lay in the center of the living room."
