Dear teachers,
I have a question in the sentence below.
What does "Grimm ending" mean?
I don't think it was necessarily happy, but you're right, I think I was waiting for the "Grimm" ending.

| The Brothers Grimm were German brothers who are famous for their collections of folk and fairy tales, which were generally fairly dark and disturbing. A "Grimm" ending would be the kind you'd see in a Grimm fairy tale, where things are complicated and never work out nicely the way you'd like, no 'happy endings'. |
