Is the following correct?
"Teachers should mark students' homework as soon as possible, so that students can learn from their mistakes before they (would?) have forgotten their work."

"that" is optional.
"Teachers should mark students' homework as soon as possible, so students can learn from their mistakes before they forget their work."
