did you hear that, or read it somewhere?
If you heard it, then maybe it's "rap parties" - (a party with rap/hip hop music)
If you read it; "wrap parties", then I have no idea! |

I think you mean the party that is thrown once a movie wraps, i.e., finishes filming. All the cast and crew get together and celebrate the completion of the filming, although of course there is still a lot of work left to do to edit and finish the film.
We use wrap to mean complete certain things.
"Come on, wrap it up." = "Come on, finish it up."
"As soon as we wrap up here, we can leave." _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |

CP is right -- wrap parties can also be thrown after a stage play has completed all of its performances. Wrap parties are not limited to movies. |

Thanks, LucentShade. I actually considered mentioning plays, too, but I wasn't 100% sure that the term was common in that context. Isn't "cast party" also used for a party after the performance of a play? _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
