You love to criticise me for being self righteous, then you say you keep telling me what is right!!!
My point was that if china is as competitive as you claim, why are kids using mobile phones in class? And not just kids - the students at university do it too!!! |

my daughter is just 8 years old. what would a 8-year-old girl love to do? of course, since they are children, they have children's characteristics, and playing games is one of these characteristics, otherwise they shouldn't be called "kids"
and there are bad students as well as good students in China, and in the world too. when I claim that Chinese students are good, I don't mean that everyone is good. I mean, in China, the competition is fierce, so these students have to study hard so that they can have a prosperous future-----> Dose that mean none of Chinese using mobile phone in class? and, No students do that in your country? what's the matter with you? I am sorry, you have no argument, that's not your fault, then why do you keep twisting people's viewpoint to fix your ridiculous points?

You are wrong! I keep telling you what's right and not to twist people's points, because I feel responsible to you! I can tell that you hurt yourself everyday just after reading my generous posts. I am being responsible to you, but you take my kindness in a bad way, so you have to keep hurting yourself. and that's what I don't wanna see. I hope I can do something to work out your bad mood, sometimes I wanna have a reasonable discussion with you, but I know that's impossible, because it's your habit to twist people's points, and when you do that, you always get into a huff. that would definitely hurt yourself terribly.
and you know what? although you can't have a reasonable discussion, but I still have fun discussing with you, because that's pretty funny!
To tell you a secret, of all people on the forum, I always reply your posts in the first place. see? you know how much you mean to me?! |

If anyone thinks that you post replies to my comments because you 'feel responsible' for me, they are nuts. You rarely answer my points because, as you said yuorself, you (and most Chinese people) are trained not to focus on facts in debates, but to attack the other person personally.
So, when does this amazingly intense competition start in China, if not before 8? There are lots of Chinese kids being pushed by their parents when they are younger than your daughter.
My original comment about the mobile phone was about how it would affect your daughter's lessons. In my country, lots of kids have mobile phones. We Westerners have discovered an amazing thing about mobiles - they have on/off buttons!!! Chinese students (so amazingly intelligent and competitive!!!) at Tsinghua haven't discovered this yet, even though I have noticed the same on/off feature on Chinese mobiles. |

You are nuts.
Just because we have to study hard for the firece conpetition, so we don't want our kids to be affected by mobile phone games even when their are young!

hahahahahahah!!!! what a great discovery!!! only people in your country have found that on/off buttons??? Chinese people haven't??? haha! you wish!!
However, please answer my question: if a kid owns the mobile phone, who will control the on/off buttons? since they are kids, they just can't help playing games, then they wouldn't press the on button? do you really think the on/off buttons can perfectly solve the whole problem for those young kids??

haha! No wonder!! no wonder your logic is so chaotic!! maybe too many mobile phone games have wasted too much your time, so you didn't have that much time for study and that made you have a hard time to get people's points. it seems that parents in your countries should have some control on kids
Again, where are you from? |

Well, I would have thought that parents would explain to their kids that mobiles should not be left on during (for example) classes.
Wrong again, Red Rose. I didn't have a mobile when I was a student in my country. Now, I switch it off during classes. Unfortunately, many Chinese people in the class do not do this.
My point is this. If the Chinese education system is so competitive, parents must explain this to their children. (They do - I constantly hear parents telling their kids about the importance of high grades.) So, why don't they tell their children to switch off their mobiles in class? Either they do - which means the kids disobey their parents and consequently make the system less competitive, or they don't - which makes the parents pretty irresponsible.
Thank you for saying "You are nuts." You just wrote on another post that we should remain polite. You are such a hypocrite!!! |

You didn't have a mobile phone when you was a student, and we should comtinue exploring why your logic is so chaotic. there must be another reason for the weird phenomenon.
And now you switch it off during the classes, good for you!!! I guess you are a 8-year-old kid too, ain't you? because you compared a 8-year-old girl to you for a debate. yes, for a 8-year-old kid, you are doing a great job!!! congratulations!!
and how do you know many Chinese people in the class do not do this? were you referring to the students of your age? 8 years old something?

Do you really think it would perfectly work on a young kid for parents to explain this?? what's a kid? sorry about your comprehension. I have to tell you, young kids don't have such a good control, they need some restriction.
How do you know we don't explain this to kids? again, your imagination just works on yourself, and your imaginations are ridiculous, you make up anything that would fix your points, without thinking if it's reasonable or not.
of course, we would explain this to kids, but since they are kids, and so young, then sometimes they just can't help playing games in classes. that's why they need some control from teachers, from parents. this's such a simple truth, I wonder why you still have a problem to get it?

I think your post says it all.
"You didn't have a mobile phone when you was a student, and we should comtinue exploring why your logic is so chaotic. there must be another reason for the weird phenomenon."
That has no logic whatsoever!!! Are you saying my arguments are wrong because I never had a mobile when I was a kid?
"And now you switch it off during the classes, good for you!!! I guess you are a 8-year-old kid too, ain't you? because you compared a 8-year-old girl to you for a debate. yes, for a 8-year-old kid, you are doing a great job!!! congratulations!!"
So you think that only people with the brains of an 8 year old would be so stupid as to switch off mobile phones during a class? How rude and uncultured!!!
Stick to the arguments instead of continually insulting people. We know that is how you were trained, but this is a civilised thread, thank you! |

No, I mean, your logic is very chaotic, but you said that many kids in your country have mobile phone, so I thought you were in the same boat, and that might expain why your logic is so chaotic, because you didn't have time for study.
But you later told that you didn't have a mobile phone when you were a kid, ok then, your chaotic logic wasn't caused by mobile phone, then what else caused your chaotic logic? I was still confused about your chaotic logic, but I am still curious why your logic is so chaotic? that's what we should keep researching.
Sorry, you still have a problem to get people's points.

sorry you are still so furious. normally, if a 8-year-old kid plays phone games in a class, we wouldn't call her "stupid", instead, we think kids of this age would do that, and we would be generous to her, after all, she is so young. and as you suggested, we would explain to her:"that's wrong, you shouldn't play games in a class."
but an uneducated loser would call such a kid "stupid". of course, based on the furious person's failed experience and her bitterness, it's understandable to abreact her pain and failure by call a naughty kid "stupid" I just hope she wouldn't hurt herself anymore.
You just told that you switch off the mobile phone during a class, and in your country, people have an amazing discovery: knowing the on/off bottun! (again, congratulations! )and you compared yourself to a 8-year-old kid. you are making the point: kids in your country are more competitive than Chinese kids, because kids in your country have a great self-control just like you, but Chinese kids don't have a good self-control, because some 8-year-old Chinese kids would probably lose the control during a class. yes, for a 8-year-old kid, you are very competitive! you do have a great self-control! what an excellent young kid you are!!

Insulting? how? look at yourself!! that's how you were trained. but this is supposed to be a civilised thread, please behave yourself! stop being upset for no reason! |

I have no idea what you are on about Red Rose. Perhaps it's that chaotic logic of yours!
I shall remember your points for future debate, when you contradict yourself yet again and try hopelessly to wriggle out of it! |

That's exactly what you look like! you keep contradicting yourself and twisting people's points. and then you just wriggle out of what you have claimed in panic.
Future debate? you are more than welcome! next time, I hope you can become a little reasonable. |

That's why I rather call it "combat" than "debate"
I think mobile phone is a thing to communicate, a mobile telephone, and not a gameboy. Children should know this thing first before buying a mobile phone. _________________ If I say "I love you" to someone, then I also have to say "I also love everyone else inside you, I love the whole world because of you, I also love myself inside you." -- Erich Fromm, the Art of Love |

Combat? well, I respectfully disagree how about "love feast"? I think this thread is a great love feast.

Chinese parents know, but Chinese kids and ieltsinsider don't know. that's why we have the love feast here. |
