hey,
i need to know whether which sentence is correct grammatically. i dont need to know about colloquial or spoken english. I just want to know strictly according to the English grammar. so here they are:
A) There was just my mum and me.
B) there was just my mum and I.
thankyou,

These statements are antithetical, zeh.
Strictly (speaking of me and I), only B is correct; less strictly, both are correct. The fact that the verb should 'correctly' be were affects the perception of 'correctness'-- by this measure, both are egregiously 'incorrect'. The use of 'Mum', a casual endearment also affects the 'correctness' in terms of register.
All in all, grammar is not as cut and dried as you may hope.
