Dear teachers,
Is it correct to say:
The temperatures in August are quite warm?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hi Crisi,
I think "the temperatures in August are quite warm" is fine, but so is "the temperature is quite warm in August." Temperature is one of those words that doesn`t easily define as countable or un-countable so it is difficult to pin-down.
Anything else to add, anyone?

How about:
The temperature in August is quite warm.

More natural still, I think, is to refer to the weather as warm and the temperature[s] as high.
The weather in August is quite warm, with the temperature reaching 35 degrees regularly. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
