It means, "The best is still to come / the best is still in the future."
Poet Robert Browning (1812-1889) wrote a poem that begins:
Grow old along with me!
The best is yet to be,
The last of life, for which the first was made:
Our times are in His hand
Who saith "A whole I planned,
Youth shows but half; trust God: see all, nor be afraid!"
Usually you see it paraphrased as, "Grow old with me. The best is yet to be." _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
