Dear Teachers,
1. A relationships got to start somewhere, not out of thin air.
- What does not out of thin air mean here?
2. There are some people when they introduce their cars or trucks, he or she often says This is my drive.. Why doesnt he or she say This is my car or This is my truck?
Thanks a lot to Teachers,

1. "Out of thin air" means "out of nothing" or "from nowhere."
2. Slang for cars might include anything. My ride, my drive, my wheels, my bug / buggy, my Kitty (if it's a Cadillac), my rod (for hot rod), my short (not sure why). If it's not very impressive, it's my jalopy, my junkheap, my s h i t box, my wreck. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
