Hello,

Are both correct? If so, do they have the same meaning? If not, which one would be correct. Just to let you know, I found the first one in a book, and the second one is what I think should be written.


1- Why do they like winter best?
They like winter best because the enjoy skiing a lot.

2- Why do they like winter the best?
They like winter the best because the enjoy skiing a lot.

They're both correct - it's perhaps more grammatically correct to use the, but 1) is more common now I think.
