Why
'the House' for the Chamber of the House of Commons
'Virgin Queen' for Elizabeth I
'the bard of Avon' for Shakespeare
Are there any allusions to them? |

'the House' for the Chamber of the House of Commons
Maybe because the Commons holds more power, so by default, the house means the Chamber of the House of Commons. It is also called the lower house, as opposed to the House of the Lords (the upper house).
'Virgin Queen' for Elizabeth I
She never married.
'the bard of Avon' for Shakespeare
Shakespeare is a bard (a lyrical poet), born (and buried) in Stratford-on Avon, a town in central England on the river Avon. |
