But, flattery (telling people they are better than they really are)makes a sociable atomosphere. That's good lie. |
I agree.
Mostly, I am a sincere person. but sometimes I would lie for good reasons. for example, my school organized us to visit a spa on Oct 1, this year. In a market, one of my colleagues bought herself a scarlet shirt. after she returned back to the hotal, me and a few colleagues were playing poker, God, when I saw her in her scarlet shirt, I felt very stunned! that shirt was so dashing and tacky that she looked like a clown in that shirt. but she didn't seem to feel that way. she looked very excited about her new shirt.
She asked me:"what do you think about my new shirt? isn't it great?"
at that moment, if I told the truth, with other colleagues around, she must have been embarrased, because other people would have laughed out. but I just told her: "it's ok." then everything was ok.
However, after people left, there were only me and her in the room, I told her:"Yang, your new shirt is awful, I am wondering why you bought it. if I were you, I would throw it out from the window." she always believed my taste of fashin style, so she didn't wear that shirt anymore.
Sometimes, whether we should tell the truth or not, it's up to the occasion, consequence... |
