Hi,
"The IFOG (interferometric fibre optical gyroscope) devices have yet to supersede the ring laser gyroscope in the high performance applications owing to the industrial investment in this techonology base."
I have two questions here:
1. "this technology base" refers to IFOG or ring laser gyroscope?
2. "owing to the industrial investment" here means "enough investment" or insufficient investment"?
Thanks.

1. It refers to the ring laser gyroscope, which has not yet been superseded by the IFOG.
2. The use of "owing" does not refer to any sort of debt. Change "owing to" to "because of," and you have the meaning: "because of the industrial investment in this technology base." _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
