Dear Teachers,
1. Let him know that you no longer respect his behaviour. And that goes for your girlfriend as well.
- that goes for your girlfriend as well means that applies for your girlfriend as well, right?
2. As soon as she saw him coming on to her she should have ended the relationship.
- coming on to her here means continuing to come to her, right?
Thanks a lot to Teachers,

1. There is not enough context here to be clear on the scenario. Who is who? So there are two possibilities that I can see:
a. (your idea): You no longer respect his behavior, and that applies to your girlfriend, as well. (That is, you don't respect her behavior, either.)
b. You no longer respect his behavior. Your girlfriend no longer respects his behavior, either.
I think "your girlfriend" is what confuses the meaning. Whose girlfriend? Is she the girlfriend of "you?" Was she hit on by him while he was the boyfriend of "you?" Is she the new girlfriend of him, replacing "you?"
2. "Coming on to [somebody]" is the same as "hit on [somebody]." It's like flirting, but more goal-oriented than simple flirting. |
