I just read from the novel "In the lake of wood" by Tim O'brien
---a delayed shock or something. He was always the type to stew, just like his father.
What does "He was always the type to stew" mean?
I'm from Taiwan and just try to complete this novel in its original language.... |

A "stew" is a kind of food that you can make that requires cooking for a long time http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stewing
If you "stew" about something, you think about it and don't forget it. You can get angrier and angrier as you think about it, too. A person who "stews" about things doen't get over them (forget them) quickly. |
