Please tell me if both versions are correct:

1. I g l a n c e d out of the window / I g l i m p s e d out of the window.

2. we needn`t pay / we needn`t have to pay

Thank you!

For me, "I glanced out of the window" is okay, but glimpsed needs an object, so....

"I glimpsed something out of the window" would be okay.

"We needn't pay" sounds okay (but a little British Wink since we would probably say, "We don't need to pay.") The second one doesn't sound right because it's just repeating the idea of the first.

Lorikeet's right.

In addition, the following sentence has a simple grammar error:it has two main verbs.

Quote:
We needn't have to pay.

To make it more clear, take away the negative and you are left with:

We need have to pay.

As Lorikeet says, you are repeating yourself. And I would add that you must choose one verb or the other.

We need to pay. / We needn't pay.
We have to pay. / We don't have to pay.
