Does "natural insulation" only refer to "the ability to protect someone from heat and cold", or can it aslo refer to" the ability to protect someone from hurt"? Thank you very much.


(context: This loss of fat under skin also means a person has less natural insulation. )

Technically it means protection from heat and cold, but it is also taken to mean protection from almost anything you can imagine, such as hurt, bullets, politicians and so on.
