my question is : what does "yet" mean in this sentence.3Q

I'm guessing that the original had "difficult," not "difficulty." So it means the difficult but vital concept of moral courage.

Let's see the whole passage, since even this meaning is a little strange. I would think it should be more like, "... a willingness to endure necessary hardship is the difficult yet vital requirement for moral courage."
