Japanese government is going to introduce English as a curriculum at primary schools.
There are some ideas like this: the globalization has been going on, so Japan will be left behind by the world if the people can't "speak" English.
I doubt the ideas of "Globalization or International=English" and "English skill will provide brighter (and richer) futures to younger generation(or perhaps for Japan' economics)" are true.
If introducing English at primary schools as a curriculum to be in practice, it will be huge wastes just spending 1-2hours in a week for dancing and singing in English. Moreover, there is no room for English instead of other basic subjects. I guess Japan will be SURE left behind if we fail to teach proper and basic skills to younger children will shoulder the future.
Corruptions in the Edu. Boards and the Diets everywhere, child abusing, homicides and suicides everywhere....
There are more important things the kids should learn(and of course the adults) than English. Educational system must to be changed for sure, but the government should take their time to consider the situation well. |
