Hello I think I know the following sentence but I'm not sure whether I understand it correctlyabout as and though. How would you paraphrase it?
Is the useage of AS and Though as the following common? This is from a story about Christioher Reeve. Thank you very much.
As I was pushed on the stage in my wheel chair, though, what I saw was 700 people on their feet clapping and cheering. |

The sentence would be perfectly correct if the previous sentence were something like this:
I didn't think anyone was going to come to see me or be at all interested in what I had to say. As I was pushed on the stage in my wheel chair, though, what I saw was/were 700 people on their feet clapping and cheering. _________________ I'm never going to learn if you don't correct my mistakes! |

Thank you, myprofe.
So, in this case, AS is used like WHEN ; THOUGH is used like BUT? |

That's right.
When I was pushed on the stage in my wheel chair I didn't think anyone was going to come to see me or be at all interested in what I had to say. But what I saw was/were 700 people on their feet clapping and cheering. _________________ I'm never going to learn if you don't correct my mistakes! |

Corrections and suggestions: I was able to confirm that. I had not seen that as and though were used like that, so I was wondering.
Comment: I don't feel comfortable being addressed as sir. _________________ I'm never going to learn if you don't correct my mistakes! |

I'm confused about what you want to say.
Past: When you answered me, you saw/noticed my mistakes, thanks for correcting them.
Future: When you answer me, you will see my mistakes, please correct them.
Comment: Correcting is what I do. I am an English teacher. _________________ I'm never going to learn if you don't correct my mistakes! |
