Which verb could I use in the following sentence:

I was ready to travel to France, where I wanted ........... a stay as an au pair girl.

Thank you all in advance for your input.

I was ready to travel to France, where I wanted to arrange a stay as an au pair girl.

a stay is a visit

It's common to say: "I hope you enjoy your stay".

Dear myprofe,

I'm not quite sure whether arrange is the verb that I am looking for.

Would the following work?

I was standing at the railway station ready to travel to France, where I was going to stay as an au pair girl.

Thank you very much in advance for your assistance.
