The expression is "still wet behind the ears." When an animal is born, it is all wet and in need of some cleaning up by its mother. Even after its first bath, the newborn calf or fawn or whatever is still wet behind the ears, but pretty soon it is all dry. Anyone still wet behind the ears is pretty young and inexperienced. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
