Hello, teachers!!

Today is November 27th, monday. When you hear "last Sunday," what sunday do you refer to? I am so confused about which is which.

My guess:
this Sunday= November 26th
last Sunday= November 19th

Thank you in advance.

If today were Monday the 27th of November 2006 then....

Yesterday was Sunday the 26th and last Sunday was the 19th.

And it would be correct to say:

On Saturday we went to the cinema and on Sunday we went to the park.

And everyone knows that you are referring to yesterday and the day before yesterday.

The weekend is still recent and it is clear what you are referring to.

When we get to the middle of the week we have to use last weekend, last Saturday etc. for the past and next Saturday, next weekend for the future.

But as we get closer to the weekend the same thing happens again.

If we imagine that today is Friday the 1st of December 2006 then....

Tomorrow is Saturday the 2nd and next Saturday will be the 9th.

And it would be correct to say:

On Sunday we are going to the park.
