If it was me, I would have said: Why would it be a problem, that he doesn't speak Spanish?
Because if you say the sentence like you wrote the listener would not understand the connection between the two sentences.

I think puncuation is tricky in this sentence because it is a sentence that is almost certainly spoken, while quite unlikely to be written (except as dialog).

I think I'd probably write it as:

Why would that be a problem - he doesn't speak Spanish?
