When they were in the middle of the lake, he fell off. He didn't know how to swim. He was going down to bottom of the lake. Then he pushed himself forward. As he was about to reach the surface, he was blocked by the bottom to the boat. He was beginning to lose his breath. He went down to the lake again and came back. This time he made it to the surface. John was scared to death. He thought he was going to die. His neighbors pulled him to the boat. Afterward, he didn't remember much. Because of the drowning, he lost interested in fishing.
Are they correct?

| Your last sentence should say 'he lost interest in fishing'. And this isn't really a grammar point, but I think that drowning technically involves the person dying - near drowning is what they call an event where someone almost drowns but survives. |
