Hello, teachers.
Are there anyhing deifferences when you use "high" or "large" such sentences as in the below of 1) and 2)?
And, which do the volume in 1) and 2) mean "significantly" or "with a large amount of trading/sales"?
1) The stock price breaks out of the trading range with high volume.
2) The stock price breaks out of the trading range with larger-than-average volume.
Plese help me.
With regards. |

Generally speaking large volume refers to size while high volume refers to quantity.
High volume printers are recommended for companies that have big printing jobs involving tens of thousands of prints each month. These machines are the fastest on the market and require very little maintnenance.
A large volume printer would be a large or wide format machine capable of printing posters, plans etc.
However, in your examples both words would be acceptable. They are both referring to the quantity of shares being traded. _________________ I'm never going to learn if you don't correct my mistakes! |

Thank you Mr. myprofe.
Well, can I see those sentences like below?
1) The stock price rises with high volume.
⇒The stock price rises because the quantity of shares being traded is high.
2) The stock price rises with larger-than-average volume.
⇒The stock price rises because the quantity of shares being traded is larger than average. |
