he released his feelings of anger.

Anger is only one feeling, so I would say, "he released his feeling of anger".
But it's a bit of a tame way to say, he exploded with anger, blew his stack, freaked out, did his nut, went ape s h i t, and so on. It's dramatic when it happens, you should aim to convey the drama to the page. |
