| Dear Luna Cat, The second one is better. But it has two mistakes: It should be "I didn't have a (or any) need for your help." So, you need a limiting adjective before "need"; and "for" instead of "to", as the preposition. Ok? The same two changes can be made to the first sentence, and it would be OK to use. |

| Or you could say, "I didn't need your help." if you wanted to use "need" as a verb instead of a noun. |

Lorikeet, You are so right in giving LunaCat's sentences a real makeover. Simpler, more direct is better. |
