In the above examples, can 'prsent's be replaced with 'represent's?

Translating the sentences:
1.Shakespeare displays / shows the hero as a noble man doomed to make mistakes.
2.The government puts itself forth / holds itself out / portrays itself as being sensitive to environmental issues.
I might use "represents itself" in sentence no. 2. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
