which of the following forms is correct and why?
Brian sholud account for BREAKING/HAVING BROKEN the window. We saw him DOING/DO it.

Brian should account for (breaking)(having broken) the window.
Both are correct but I much prefer the first one. (there is no need for
perfect tense here)
We saw him (doing) (do) it.
Both are correct but I prefer "do"; it sounds better. |
