Dear Teachers,
1. Peter! What are you doing next week?
- Im going to the seminary to become a priest / a minister.
- Im going to the pagoda to become a monk.
- Im returning to my native village / going to my countryside.
- Are these natural?
2.- Im going to the theater with my girlfriend.
- Im going to the play with my girlfriend.
- Are these the same meaning?
Thanks a lot to Teachers,
Stevenukd. |

They are all OK except that you would not say my countryside, but rather, the countryside. You could add, "where I was born" if you wanted to be more specific, or you could name the village, or province.

They don't have quite the same meaning.
You can go to a play at a location other than the theatre.
Also you would normally say, a play, unless you had already mentioned which play it was. |
