Hi there
My favourite fantasy authors are Terry pratchett, Elaine Cunningham and Vonda N. McIntyre.
Terry pratchett's discworld novels are the funniest books I've ever read.
Elaine Cunningham writes books based on the forgotten realms fantasyworld and I love her books.

Nah, I'm more of a contemporary or sci-fi fan myself. Some fantasy books are pretty good though, like The Chronicles of Narnia. The Everworld series is also pretty good too.

George R R Martin has a good siries of books about kings and dragons, but you need very good reading skill and a strong stomach. The book sieries is called "Song of Ice and Fire" there are 4 books out right now with the last book comming out next year. each book has over 700 pages, but it is a great story.

But dont be supprised the way the story is written, you might come to love some charaters in the first book only to have them killed off later on. it doesnt seem fair, because the innocent get killed alot, but near the end the bad guys get what they deserve.

Hello.
I've read The Cronicles of Narnia but in my opinion that's better for kids and teens (I don't want to insult anybody, that's just my thought).
The Lord of The Rings is great! I've read it in Russian, now I'm reading it for the second time in English. That's the unique book which describes extremely beautiful world. That's the first big work in fantasy, I believe.
How about Rodger Zelazny? Has someboby read it? There is a special approach to creation of fantasy worlds in some of his books. He uses existing mythology (egyptian, creek etc.) and create an alternative version of it. Sometimes it's very exciting!

Hello, I am a Japanese student. I like fantasy very much.
I think 'Load of the rings' is great story!! The character's friendship moved me. My most most favorite fantasy novels is 'Circle of magic'. The scene of this story is European Middle ages, and it is interesting.

Yeah, I've read one of Salvatore's books. It was well. But not perfectly, in my opinion anyway...
I also like Ursula LeGuin books.
