--Yes, right. I speak from personal experience.

--It does come from sports. If the field is level, then it is fair for all playing. If tilted one way or the other, it may favor one side. People use the expression in any context to mean to make the situation fair for all, not favoring anyone.

--It's figurative. To come full circle is to return to the starting place after a long time or distance, whether figurative or literal.

Well, I thought by now someone would have given us the meaning of "piped out," but since no one did, I Googled it.

I found instances of people being "piped out" of a wedding ceremony (someone playing the bagpipes as the happy couple left), and water being piped out of houses (drained out by pipes), and ingredients being piped out while preparing food (squirted out of tubes, I think), not to mention music being piped out from the source, information piped out to the audience, radioactive waste piped out to sea (hey, stop that!), and piped-out wells (oil wells that had been exhausted).

There were 45,000 hits, and I looked at the first 20. That's about my Google limit.
