I'm Italian, I live in Italy and I've been abroad only for very short periods - 2 weeks at maximum... I've been to Ireland, Great Britain, France, Germany, Austria and Ireland... most of the habits and traditions are very similar... though I've found that the food in GB and Ireland is mostly awful, no very big shocks...

I live in northeast of China, and I have been to Japan, North Korea and South Korea. These three countries are not far from my hometown and these three countyies are not far from each other. But they are totally different. Different food, different language, different regime, different culture. even table wares are not same. Flying over the national boundaries, you will land in another world.

Culture shock is not about good place or bad place. It is about simply different, and so different from what you are familiar with. A person moving from a small town to a big city in the same country speaking the same language can still experience culture shock.

When I was junior high school student, I went to Thailand for a week.
It was hard rain. I don't have culture shock. Ramen is delicious.
Moreover I was born in philippine. I lived in there still three years old.
So I don't remember .

Hi, Everyone!
Im thankful for a lot of response. And Im surprised.
I had been to another country only one.
I think that knowing culture shock is to develop our plasticity for language.
To learn different language is to know the countrys culture.
So I want to more know story. Very Happy

hi,
I'm from turkey but I live in the usa. when I came here first time, tell you the truth I did not face with culture shock. turkish and usa cultures are different, but I think I knew a lot of thing about the usa that's the reason why I did not face culture shock. before usa, I went to france just 4 days actually I felt like in istanbul you know buildings are smiliar. but I did not face culture shock again.

I'm from South Korea, and I've been to the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, Japan, Philippines, and so on!

I liked all places- People were all nice.
Each place has its own unique character, so it was good to experience different kinds of culture.

The only problem that i had was because of language. Since i can not speak any Japanese, it was reaaaaaaally hard for me to travel around the country!

I live in the USA and I've been to China last summer for two weeks. The biggest jolt of culture shock I got was when asked about the government, the tour guide said that she couldn't talk about that. There's absolutely nothing you can't talk about in the USA! But, as I expected, there were tons of bicycles! Much of the population that I saw was suffering from poverty, while surrounded by the hugely impressive buildings of Shanghai. Man, the Great Wall's awesome!

Hi! I'm Japanese college student.
I've been to Thailand.
I visited Bankok and some areas of Thailand.
I've been imaged that Thailand is very hot place.
However,it wasn't hotter than I had expected.
Thai foods was very hot as bite the tongue!!
It was too hot for me to eat.
I like Thai people because they were very friendly and funny.
Thailand is good to visit.

I was born in Vietnam. well..Vietnam is a very cool country. Not like some of u might think. we dont have wars here, so its cool. we dont carry guns around. we dont live in leaf-houses or rundown houses. we dont go to the rice field in the city or the pigs cage (well unless ur in a countryside). We dont wear like brown or black big clothes with holes in the city. Well i guess the most interesting things about my country is that we usually travel by motorbike, well, many of us do. But i often travel by car cuz its not like theres rarely a car in the street. And o yeh i go to a British school.

I used to live in Canada when i was small, and uh, i used to live in Richmond- around 1 hour from the Vancouver city center. I love the peace and trees and everything there. I mean, i dont see why some ppl like the city centres cuz theres no land to build big houses and the malls are quite small anyway.

I also usually go to Australia for boarding summer school every summer holiday since year 5 (im in year 8 now). Well its kinda like Canada, except there are many cool beaches.

I've been to Pattaya-Thailand and Malaysia too, for the FOBISSEA SPORT and FOBISSEA MUSIC FESTIVAL events every year. They're quite similar to Vietnam, but cool.

I've also been to the Phillipines last Christmas holiday. I love the scene there. lol cuz there were like transports with colours and stuff.
Guess thats all i can remember!!
