I normally don't celebrate Christmas. Maybe because I am not a Christian. However, here in the south China, many people celebrate Christmas. I don't know why. I guess it's because US has a powerful influence all over the world, so the typical American festivels are celebrated by people in the world. on the other hand, Christmas has become a chance by which the stores and supermarkets make money.

Happily, I always receive many presents from my students on every Christmas. that's why I like Christmas.

I'm here, lol! Well, I've never gone to Zapote actually, but I know what's it about. What Roger meant, is that in Costa Rica, every year they organize some kind of festival in a place called Zapote (Zah-POH-teh) where there are stands in which you can drink lots of alcohol Rolling Eyes and also eat traditional stuff. There are also machines, sort of like games as the roller coasters and all that. To be honest, I've never liked or had the interest to go there...but you know, maybe for others Zapote rocks. lol hahaha...

Roger, don't worry so much... I'm agnostic (don't have any religion), sometimes I feel like an alien in here... Nearly everybody is christian, but you must not feel pittyful for that... I do celebrate Christmas, but it's because of my grandparents, for me celebrating it doesn't mean anything. I think, as RedRose, that Christmas has become a party for markets... See?

Oh, and I don't know how to say that about the bulls either...

It's just that they put a bull in some sort of umm... bullring, I think that's how it's called... and people run like mad when the bull wants to get them... But in Costa Rica it's illegal to kill the bulls, like they do in Spain for example...

But also I don't know why, but the last year I was so happy because of the Chrismas!!! Confused

Chinese people don't know very much about the real meaning of Christmas, but here in XiAn many students go to the Christian church, holding a light while going around the church. Laughing Laughing Laughing
